Kay clarified – “Packers completed trade for Ravens 2-round starter”….SEE MORE

This free agency cycle, there is an excessive amount of elite running back talent available, providing teams with many choices to pick from should they need to rebuild their RB room. J.K. Dobbins, a running back, is one of the two important Baltimore Ravens wide receivers available in the free agency market. He might be a low-risk, high-reward choice for a team this summer.

Alex Kay of Bleacher Report wrote a piece titled “Predicted Landing Spot: Green Bay Packers” regarding some of the best running backs available.

Dobbins might have an opportunity to contend in the playoffs and regain his worth by joining one of the NFC’s up-and-coming teams.

According to Kay, Dobbins is expected to make somewhat more than $2 million in his next contract, so a team willing to take a chance on his health will probably have to offer him a “prove it” type of deal.

“The Green Bay Packers could be the spot for Dobbins to rehabilitate his career, allowing him to back up Aaron Jones,” Kay continued her article.

Under the leadership of quarterback Jordan Love, the Packers, one of the youngest teams, defeated the Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs this past season. Despite dealing with injury issues, Jones recovered well in the latter part of the season.

AJ Dillon, his backup, also struggled with injuries during the season and will be a free agent. In his essay, Kay describes him as joining the Los Angeles Chargers.

J.K. Dobbins Has A Lot to Show in 2024 The Ravens selected Dobbins in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and they had great expectations for the Ohio State product.

“J.K. Dobbins has shown Pro Bowl potential when healthy, but regrettably, injuries have plagued his career,” Kay said.

As a rookie, Dobbins had exceptional skills in a backfield that included Mark Ingram and Gus Edwards. He gained 805 yards and 9 touchdowns on 134 carries, an incredible 6.0 yards per carry.

Regretfully, he hasn’t been able to play more than eight games in a season since his 15 appearances in 2020.

“Since being selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Dobbins has only made 24 appearances in the NFL, missing the entire 2021 season and appearing in just one game in 2023,” Kay wrote.

Dobbins had a great start to 2023, scoring a touchdown in the first game against the Houston Texans, but in the same contest, he tore his Achilles tendon, ending his 2021 season.

The wide receiver was seen recovering from an injury and getting ready for free agency in a video that went viral of him running and working out. Since Dobbins is only 25 years old, he should have another opportunity to prove himself if he can overcome his history of injuries.

Packers Predicted to Sign Ravens Free Agent RB J.K. Dobbins

J.K. Dobbins won’t go without a fight from the Ravens
When Dobbins is healthy, the Ravens know how good he can be, and they won’t just let him leave without trying.

When discussing additional running backs, general manager Eric DeCosta stated, “We’ll talk to J.K.” on February 27 at the NFL combine. “Hopeful that we can get something done with those guys,” Decosta continued.

Although Derrick Henry and other high-profile free agents have been connected to the Ravens, their cap position may force them to search elsewhere for a deal.

Keaton Mitchell, who was a rookie in 2023, is still on the team, but he recently suffered a catastrophic injury of his own. Justice Hill, who is still with the organization, has been identified as a possible cap casualty for the upcoming season.

According to Spotrac’s market valuation tool, Dobbins might be worth $4.3 million and two years from now. The Ravens may take a chance on bringing back their own runner at that price.

But given his injury history and the uncertainty surrounding Mitchell’s injury, the Ravens might consider a healthier alternative.
