Bryan Mbeumo has made a statement indicating that he could be looking for a move this summer, with substantial interest from Newcastle developing in recent days.
The attacker had a fantastic season with Brentford, scoring nine goals and assisting six times in 25 league games, prompting interest from several large teams.
Newcastle and Liverpool are keeping a close eye on the 24-year-old, who has stated that he wants to play in the greatest competitions for the biggest teams.
Of course, Newcastle’s lack of European football works against them right now, but the long-term goal is to play in those competitions on a regular basis, and Mbeumo could surely help them get there.
After five years with the London-based club, the Cameroon international is ‘enticed’ by the whispers surrounding him and hopes to ‘take a step ahead’ in the summer.
This is what Mbeumo said:
“I spent five seasons with Brentford, a club that understood how to help me grow and progress. But, certainly, I want to play in the biggest competitions and with the finest clubs. It’s still exciting to see some large clubs interested in me. “We’ll see.”
