The Middlesbrough player has described “the best place for him to develop” in the midst of interest from Everton and West Ham.

Prior to the summer transfer window, HITC reports that the Toffees and the Hammers are monitoring the versatile defender. However, a number of other elite teams, including Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton and Hove Albion, and Crystal Palace, have also been scouting the Dutchman.

Despite interest from teams like Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan, Van den Berg signed with Boro last summer, and he has established himself as a vital member of Michael Carrick’s squad.

Among the teams interested in Middlesbrough prodigy Rav van den Berg are Everton and West Ham United.

Middlesbrough supporter Dana Malt of FLW is unsurprised that transfer interest in the Dutchman is growing ahead of the summer.

But she thinks Van den Berg would be better off for his career right now if he stayed at the Riverside for one additional year.

First off, Dana told Football League World, “I’m not surprised that Rav van den Berg is attracting interest as he’s probably been Boro’s best summer signing this season.”

He just exudes maturity and composure.

“His performances have been solid overall, despite a little decline recently.

Therefore, I don’t find it surprising that other teams, especially those at a higher level, are interested in him.

“Clearly, teams like Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, and Roma courted this player.”

Nevertheless, I do believe that he would gain more from continuing at Middlesbrough, first and foremost for the playing time and, secondly, to improve and hone a couple parts of his game that would use a little honing.

Therefore, I believe that this season has shown us more positives than negatives. However, I do believe that there are some areas he could potentially improve upon, such as what I just mentioned, and I believe that Boro is probably the best place for him to do so.

Middlesbrough: Rav van den Berg claim made amid Everton, West Ham interest

It would be preferable for Van den Berg to remain at Middlesbrough and turn down transfer offers.

Middlesbrough’s season has started lacklusterly after they came dangerously close to winning Premier League promotion the year before. Despite their midweek victory over Norwich, they currently appear unlikely to make the playoffs.

Although Van den Berg’s entrance has been a terrific complement to the squad and he is learning on the job, recruitment has been a problem since last summer.

Given that the young Dutchman is still only 19 years old and is adjusting to a physically demanding league like the Championship really well, it is not surprising that he has drawn transfer interest.

Though there might be a few teams where he would start, perhaps another year of reliable playing time in the Championship would be more advantageous than possibly coming in and out of a Premier League starting lineup.
