Paul Merson points out one way that Monday’s Everton vs. Crystal Palace match will go.

When Everton takes on Crystal Palace on Monday night in the Premier League, Sean Dyche’s team hopes to win for the first time since 2024. The Toffees’ lone victory of the year came against Palace, as Dyche’s team lost the FA Cup third-round match 1-0.

At the moment, Everton is one point below Luton Town, who are situated on the right side of the dotted line, and sits inside the relegation zone.

This weekend’s matchup between the Hatters and a hot Manchester United could offer Everton an opportunity to climb out of the bottom three.

Despite having lost four of their past five Premier League games, Palace is currently five points clear of Dyche’s team. The Eagles are in disarray; the team has not yet disclosed whether Roy Hodgson has resigned.

Reporter Alex Crook of talkSPORT attacked the present state of affairs live on air on Thursday morning.

“It seems like a highly unsavoury scenario if Hodgson is required to address the media today and respond to queries when everyone in the room is aware that his tenure at Palace is nearing its conclusion,” he stated.

It must be mentioned that, should he be required to take the bus to Everton on Monday for an extremely important match, the circumstances are quite absurd.

Paul Merson, a commentator for Sky Sports, concurs that this seems like a fantastic chance for the Toffees to finally start a successful run of 2024 results.

Paul Merson predicts Everton vs. Crystal Palace.
Merson believes Everton will win a “crucial” three points, calling the visitors “beatable” in the absence of Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze.
